Seth Minkin
Seth takes inspiration from primitive painting and classical sculpture. His frontal, two-dimensional figures fill the frames, giving them a monumental presence recalling mural paintings. Icons of ancient or modern cultures, from East or West, animals of all sorts, are pushed up against his subtly textured monochrome backgrounds, drawn alternatively with spare, incisive lines, or a patchwork of intricate patterns.
